Even in winter ... maybe especially in winter ... the skies over Saskatchewan are a constant source of wonder.
This first picture is of an everyday occurance. But those sunrises and sunsets never get old.
This next photo is a treasure. The northern lights appear at unpredictable times and only in the north country. Lady Aurora has been especially active this winter, thanks to solar storms. This image was captured by amateur astronomer/aurora hunter/photographer Garry Stone during the winter solstice 2015, at Gardiner Dam, about 20 km north of The Elbow. Beautiful.
